Norside Ltd is an independent company with our offices and yard based in St Mungo Street, Bishopbriggs. The formation of the company was in November 1996, prior to this we operated as a Sole Trader for approximately 10 years.
Paul Smith is the Managing Director and operational hub of Norside and his experience in the Construction Industry is put to good use by the appropriate Foremen.
Norside’s workforce provides a multi-trade planned and reactive repair service. Our skills base range from Slater’s, Sheeting, Joiners, Bricklaying, Felter’s, Decorators, Rough casters and Plasterers. We also sub-contract works from other established trades all in compliance with the Inland Revenues Construction Industry Scheme.
We began as a Slating and roofing company and still pride ourselves in that area. We carry a stock of approximately 500,000 Scotch slate as well as stocks of most discontinued tiles and tiles in current use.
We provide our services to a variety of Housing Associations, Insurance companies, Surveyors and other businesses as well as home owners. Examples of these are total refurbishment of fire or flood damaged properties, extensions to existing properties, planned maintenance, reactive repairs and an emergency call out service. We have provided these services to the GHA through instruction from Loss Adjusters and competitive tendering.
We have carried out a variety of grant assisted projects within Glasgow City, Dunbartonshire and surrounding areas ranging from replacement tiled or slated roof to sheeted roof and disabled adaptations. We are on the list if approved contractors for Glasgow City Council along with others. We have a working relationship with Stobhill Hospital, Glasgow Western, Gartnavel, Blawarthill and Drumchapel as a maintenance contractor which extends over a period of 10 years.
We were the main contractors on the reinstatement of 24 flats, which were devastated by a major fire in October 2013 at Hillfoot Street, Dennistoun.
We are members of Constructionline, which is a trade body that is recognised as an indication of appropriateness by East Dunbartonshire Council and Greater Glasgow NHS Trust among many others.
We consider ourselves to be a progressive company and would be happy to consider any type of works available.
